Job Description
We are supporting a multinational organisation with operations across the Middle East in the appointment of an experienced Financial Controller. This is a senior regional role, reporting into the EMEA Finance Director and partnering closely with regional leadership.
The role covers a multi-country, multi-entity structure and is suited to a commercially minded finance leader who combines strong technical capability with hands-on regional oversight.
The Role
The Financial Controller will take ownership of regional financial control, reporting, planning and compliance, while acting as a trusted business partner to senior leadership. The role spans 9 countries and 15+ legal entities, with responsibility for governance, statutory compliance, audit, tax and financial performance across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a strategic finance partner to regional leadership, providing insight and challenge to support commercial decision-making
- Own annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to group timelines
- Oversee monthly financial close and reporting, including review of trial balances, general ledger activity and balance sheet reconciliations
- Manage and coordinate outsourced accounting functions and shared service teams, ensuring timely and accurate delivery
- Lead preparation and coordination of statutory accounts, audits and local tax compliance across the region
- Prepare detailed variance analysis against budget and prior year, providing clear commentary and recommendations
- Analyse financial, market and economic data to support forecasting and long-term planning
- Evaluate new business opportunities, including full financial and cash flow impact assessments
- Coordinate closely with regional treasury to manage cash flow forecasting and banking requirements
- Maintain and strengthen regional banking relationships
- Ensure strong internal controls and compliance with group policies, IFRS and regional regulations
- Drive continuous improvement of finance processes and governance frameworks
- Support group-level initiatives and projects, including audit coordination and reporting requirements
Candidate Profile
- Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or CFA)
- 3-5+ years post-qualification experience
- Technically strong in IFRS
- Audit / Big 4 background highly preferred with 2-3 years in industry
- Hands-on with team management
- Someone who has worked in a country whose HQ is in the UK or Europe
- Strong background in management accounting, regional or multi-entity finance roles
- Solid working knowledge of IFRS, audit and tax compliance
- Experience operating across multiple jurisdictions with varying regulatory requirements
- Proven ability to work autonomously in a deadline-driven, pressurised environment
- Experience coordinating remote or shared service teams
- Strong stakeholder management and business partnering capability
- Currently based in the UAE
- Exposure to group reporting environments with tight reporting deadlines
- Experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365; OneStream exposure advantageous
