Job Description
The Director of Financial Planning and Modelling is responsible for leading the university’s financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis functions. This role involves providing accurate and strategic financial insights, guiding budgetary decisions, and supporting long-term financial planning. Prior Higher Education Sector Experience is sought for this role.
Some of the responsibilities will be:
- Drive the formulation of the Department's strategy, as well as annual business plans.
- Build, update, and enhance complex financial models to analyze the financial impact of key university initiatives.
- Conduct variance analyses to identify trends, opportunities, and risks within the university’s financial framework.
- Generate comprehensive financial reports and dashboards for executive leadership, the Board of Trustees, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor and evaluate budget performance, ensuring adherence to budgeted expenses and identifying areas for cost savings.
- Analyze internal and external financial data to provide recommendations for resource allocation, cost optimization, and revenue generation.
- Advise university leadership on the financial viability of potential programs, partnerships, and investments.
- Work closely with enrollment management, fundraising, and research departments to model and predict revenues from diverse sources.
Required:
- Experience in Higher Education Finance and Investments
- Senior Management Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; Master’s degree (MBA, Master’s in Finance) or CPA/CMA designation preferred.
