Job Description
Our client is a small events business, with around 50-60 employees in the UAE.
You will oversee accounting practices across a couple of the group of companies, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and robust internal controls. The role also partners closely with the CEO to support budgeting, cost control, profitability analysis, and informed financial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts, expense reports, and variance analyses for group and subsidiary entities.
- Manage 2 Accountants
- Oversee job costing and profitability tracking in service-led operations.
- Maintain accurate balance sheets and ensure timely reconciliations.
- Manage payroll, payment reviews, and insurance claims.
- Lead cash flow forecasting and management to support business operations.
- Ensure compliance with VAT, corporate tax, and other regulatory requirements.
- Drive supplier payment term negotiations and commission calculations.
- Liaise with auditors, outsourced accounting partners, and financial institutions.
Required Expertise
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, VAT legislation, and financial reporting.
- Experience in job costing, service-based financial analysis, and group accounting.
- Skilled in Xero, Excel, and Zoho (or similar financial systems).
- Strong grasp of financial planning, forecasting, and compliance management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (professional certification such as CA, CPA, or ACCA advantageous).
- Minimum 7 years in accounting and financial management, with at least 3 years in a Finance Manager level role.
- Track record in multi-entity accounting and intercompany reconciliations.
