Our leading UAE Banking client is looking to hire an experienced Payments and Clearing Senior Manager to join their central operations team. In this key role, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of payments and clearing operations, ensuring smooth and efficient execution. You will be a key partner to the wider business, providing expert guidance and driving strategic initiatives to optimise processes and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of payments and clearing professionals, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Ensure the efficient and accurate processing of all centralised banking payments, adhering to all relevant regulations and compliance requirements.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimise payments and clearing processes, streamlining workflows and maximising efficiency.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the UAE payments ecosystem, including regulations, clearing mechanisms, and best practices.
- Oversee cash management activities, ensuring optimal liquidity levels and adherence to internal control procedures.
- Collaboration relating to delivery of IT projects related to payments and clearing operations, working collaboratively with IT teams.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to the wider business on all matters related to payments and clearing.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve operational risk management and mitigate potential risks.
Qualifications:
- 10 years+ proven experience as a Senior Manager or Team Leader within payments and clearing operations in a retail banking environment (UAE experience essential).
- Degree in a Finance related subject with supporting work experience
- Strong leadership skills with a demonstrable track record of motivating and developing a high-performing team.
- In-depth knowledge of payments and clearing processes, regulations, and best practices within the UAE.
- Excellent understanding of cash management principles and practices.
- Proven project management experience, with a successful record of delivering IT and operational projects on time and within budget. PMP/PRINCE2 would be advantageous
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy and efficiency.
