Sales Engineer – Africa Region
An international engineering and infrastructure solutions business is looking to hire a Sales Engineer to support business growth across Africa from its Dubai office.
This role will suit a technically strong and commercially aware engineer who enjoys building long-term client relationships, managing technical sales processes, and working across complex infrastructure and industrial projects.
The position covers multiple African markets and involves regular regional travel, client engagement, technical solution selling, and collaboration with internal engineering and project teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, partners, and industry stakeholders across Africa
- Convert enquiries and leads into commercial opportunities and sales orders
- Prepare technical proposals, quotations, costing sheets, and tender submissions
- Conduct client meetings, presentations, technical discussions, and site visits
- Support project handovers to internal delivery teams
- Maintain accurate CRM reporting and pipeline management
- Represent the business at conferences, exhibitions, and industry events
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends across the region
- Provide post-sales support and maintain strong customer relationships
Requirements:
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Minimum 3 years of experience in technical sales, application engineering, project engineering, or commercial engineering roles
- Strong technical understanding and ability to discuss engineered solutions with clients
- Experience working within industrial, infrastructure, engineering, construction, oil & gas, marine, or heavy industry sectors
- Comfortable managing long sales cycles and technical tender processes
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to travel regularly across Africa
- French language skills are highly advantageous
