Job Description
Our client, an established and fast-growing energy commodities business is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join its finance team based in Dubai. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who thrives in a fast paced oil, gas, or commodities setting and is looking to further develop their experience within a commercially driven organisation.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately record financial transactions within the ERP system
- Process supplier invoices and customer receipts in a timely manner
- Prepare payment documentation and support both local and international payment processing
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Reconcile customer and supplier accounts, following up on outstanding balances
- Assist with month-end closing activities and preparation of supporting schedules
- Maintain organized accounting records and audit-ready documentation
- Support intercompany reconciliations across group entities
- Provide schedules and documentation required for internal and external audits
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, financial policies, and compliance standards
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar accounting role
- Prior exposure to energy trading, oil & gas, commodities, or supply chain-based businesses is highly advantageous
- Working knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., ACCPAC or similar platforms)
- Basic understanding of IFRS
- Strong attention to detail with high levels of accuracy
- Well-developed communication and organizational skills
