Job Description

Our client, an established and fast-growing energy commodities business is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join its finance team based in Dubai.  This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who thrives in a fast paced oil, gas, or commodities setting and is looking to further develop their experience within a commercially driven organisation.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately record financial transactions within the ERP system
• Process supplier invoices and customer receipts in a timely manner
• Prepare payment documentation and support both local and international payment processing
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
• Reconcile customer and supplier accounts, following up on outstanding balances
• Assist with month-end closing activities and preparation of supporting schedules
• Maintain organized accounting records and audit-ready documentation
• Support intercompany reconciliations across group entities
• Provide schedules and documentation required for internal and external audits
• Ensure adherence to internal controls, financial policies, and compliance standards

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar accounting role
• Prior exposure to energy trading, oil & gas, commodities, or supply chain-based businesses is highly advantageous
• Working knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., ACCPAC or similar platforms)
• Basic understanding of IFRS
• Strong attention to detail with high levels of accuracy
• Well-developed communication and organizational skills
