Strategic Business Development Manager – Breakbulk & Project Cargo
Are you a commercially driven professional with deep roots in breakbulk, project cargo, and heavy lift logistics? Our client is seeking a Strategic Business Development Manager to help drive growth, open new markets, and build strategic customer partnerships.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in project-based logistics, has a passion for non-containerised cargo, and is looking to take ownership of business development within a specialised, multi-port organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and win new business opportunities in breakbulk, fabrication, and project logistics
- Build strategic partnerships with EPCs, manufacturers, and heavy cargo clients
- Lead the development of compelling commercial proposals and solutions
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align pricing, port operations, and customer experience
- Conduct market and competitor analysis to identify new revenue streams
- Support internal and external audits (e.g. AEO), and drive continuous improvement in processes
- Work closely with senior leadership on commercial strategy and market expansion
Ideal Candidate:
- 5–10 years’ experience in breakbulk/project cargo sales, ports, or freight forwarding
- Proven track record in opening new markets and growing customer portfolios
- Deep understanding of port operations, multimodal logistics, and heavy lift coordination
- Strategic mindset with hands-on experience in client-facing roles
- Fluent in English with strong communication and negotiation skills
