Job Description

 

A leading business which operates in the healthcare industry is seeking a Head of Finance to take full ownership of the finance function. This is a senior leadership role responsible for financial control, compliance, and team leadership.

 

The CFO is looking to bring in a candidate of the highest calibre, someone who is driven and motivated to deliver excellence in the finance department.

 

The successful candidate will come from the healthcare or pharma industry, with deep technical accounting expertise and proven experience overseeing core finance functions including tax, audit, payroll, and reporting.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead and manage the finance function, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all areas
  • Own the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Oversee all technical accounting matters in line with IFRS and local GAAP
  • Ensure full compliance with local tax laws (Zakat, VAT, etc.) and manage all tax filings and audits
  • Manage internal and external audits, ensuring clean audit outcomes and robust controls
  • Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with labour laws
  • Develop and implement strong internal controls, policies, and procedures
  • Prepare financial statements, management reports, and board-level presentations
  • Support strategic decision-making through cashflow forecasting
  • Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing finance team
  • Act as a key business partner to the senior leadership team and other departments

 

Candidate Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CMA, etc.) required
  • An early career in the Big 4 would be highly advantageous
  • Ability to join at short notice (immediately) is a preference
  • Minimum of 10 years’ progressive finance experience, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role in the healthcare industry
  • Strong knowledge of tax, regulatory requirements
  • Solid understanding of IFRS
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus
