My Client is a premier events and activations agency known for delivering exceptional and innovative experiences. We are seeking a highly experienced and talented Freelance Technical Director to join our team in Riyadh on a contract basis. This senior role will oversee all technical aspects of our events and activations, ensuring flawless execution and technical excellence.

Position Overview:

The Freelance Technical Director will be responsible for leading the technical production of events, managing technical teams, and ensuring that all technical elements align with client expectations and company standards. This role requires extensive experience in event technology, strong leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Leadership:
  • Oversee all technical aspects of event production, including AV, lighting, staging, and special effects.
  • Lead and manage technical teams, including engineers, technicians, and crew members, ensuring effective collaboration and high performance.
• Project Management:
  • Develop and implement technical plans and strategies for each event, including equipment needs, setup schedules, and technical workflows.
  • Coordinate with clients, production managers, and creative teams to ensure technical requirements are met and align with the overall vision of the event.
• Equipment and Resource Management:
  • Identify and source appropriate technical equipment and resources for each event.
  • Manage the setup, operation, and dismantling of technical equipment, ensuring everything functions smoothly.
• Quality Assurance:
  • Conduct thorough pre-event technical rehearsals and quality checks to identify and resolve any potential issues.
  • Troubleshoot and address technical problems during events to ensure seamless operation and minimal disruption.
• Budget and Contract Management:
  • Prepare and manage technical budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and effective resource allocation.
  • Negotiate contracts with equipment suppliers and service providers as needed.
• Safety and Compliance:
  • Ensure all technical operations comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Implement risk management procedures and conduct safety briefings for technical staff.
• Client and Stakeholder Communication:
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for clients, providing updates and addressing any concerns or modifications.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure all technical aspects meet client expectations and project specifications.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Production, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced certifications are a plus.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior technical role within the events or activations industry.
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex technical productions and leading technical teams.
• In-depth knowledge of AV, lighting, staging, and special effects technologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
