Job Description

 Our client is a leading private healthcare service provider operating in GCC. They are looking for a Head of Legal who would be responsible for providing guidance on corporate governance, negotiating and drafting contracts, risk management, and the development of plans and policies.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Be the main contact within the organisation’s legal team, and is expected to build strong and amicable relationships with vendors, housing authorities, landlords and external legal counsel.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance on all issues related to contracts with third parties, employment matters, mergers and acquisitions, portfolio investments, joint ventures, strategic alliances, purchase/sale of property and other assets, leases, and investment structures.
  • Advice on legal and commercial risks related to all business activities.
  • Manage external legal counsels and liaise with Government bodies as and when required.
  • Execute and manage appropriate legal action with regards to litigations by external parties
  • Work with the management to on the legal aspect of the corporate governance and compliance structure.
  • Manage and coordinate the activities of the Legal Department and ensures that they are within budget.
  • Advise the Human Resources department on employment law and labour and benefit issues, drafting and negotiating contracts and agreements, providing litigation support in the event of disciplinary actions and contract ending with employees.

 

Education and Experience:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in law is a must
  • Proven experience as a Corporate Attorney, Corporate Lawyer, Legal Counsel or similar position
  • Proven experience as a Legal with minimum 10 years of relevant experience, preferably from the Healthcare Industry in the Middle East.
  • Significant contracting experience.
  • Knowledge of regional corporate laws and compliance policies.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate governance and compliance issues Integrity and Risk Assessment.
  • Attention to detail; Negotiation skills; Multi-tasking; Working under pressure, Integrity and Professional Ethics.
