Senior Estimator – Landscaping

The Opportunity

Inspire Selection is recruiting a Senior Estimator for an established UAE contractor delivering landscaping and external works projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing competitive and accurate estimates for landscaping tenders, covering hardscape, softscape, irrigation and associated civil works.

This is a hands-on pre-contracts position requiring strong technical estimating knowledge, commercial awareness and the ability to manage tender submissions from initial review through to final pricing.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQs, quantity take-offs and tender submissions for landscaping projects.
• Develop accurate rate build-ups covering labour, materials, plant, equipment and subcontractor costs.
• Estimate hardscape works including paving, kerbing, external finishes, boundary works and associated structures.
• Prepare estimates for softscape works, planting, soil preparation, turfing and landscape finishes.
• Review and price irrigation systems, drainage and associated infrastructure.
• Analyse drawings, specifications, tender documents and project requirements to identify scope and pricing obligations.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Prepare commercial comparisons and identify opportunities for value engineering and cost optimisation.
• Identify tender risks, scope gaps, exclusions and potential variations.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, commercial and project delivery teams during tender preparation.
• Support post-tender clarifications, negotiations and handover to project teams.
• Maintain accurate records of current market rates and historical project pricing.

Essential Requirements

• Approximately 10–15 years' relevant experience in construction estimating, including substantial exposure to landscaping and external works projects.
• Strong hands-on experience estimating hardscape, softscape and irrigation packages.
• Sound understanding of landscaping construction methods, materials, specifications and project costs.
• Proven ability to prepare detailed BOQs, quantity take-offs, rate analyses and tender submissions.
• Experience reviewing construction drawings and contract documentation.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of competitive tender pricing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to review drawings using AutoCAD.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline.

Additional Technical Skills

• Experience using CCS Candy estimating software is strongly preferred.
• Experience with CostX, PlanSwift or equivalent quantity take-off software would be advantageous.
• Familiarity with construction planning tools such as Primavera P6 or MS Project would be beneficial.
