Head of Internal Audit

Salary AED 42,000 – 55,000 + Family Medical & Air Ticket

Abu Dhabi

Our client, is looking for a highly skilled and hands-on Head of Internal Audit to lead the internal audit function for the small business operations of their holding company based in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will be responsible for establishing and executing a risk-based internal audit plan, providing independent assurance on the effectiveness of the company's governance, risk management, and internal control processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive internal audit plan tailored to the company's business operations
• Conduct audits across all departments, identifying areas of risk, inefficiency, and non-compliance
• Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, processes, and procedures
• Prepare clear and concise audit reports with actionable recommendations and present findings to senior management and the Audit Committee
• Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and track progress
• Provide expert advice and guidance to management on best practices in internal controls and risk management
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies
• Collaborate with external auditors and regulators as needed
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business
• Continuously assess and enhance the internal audit methodology and tools

Requirements:

• ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) or CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) qualification is preferred
• Minimum of 10+ years of relevant internal audit experience, preferably within a practice environment and industry experience within a mid-sized business
• Strong understanding of risk management, corporate governance, and internal control frameworks
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization
• Hands-on approach with the ability to work independently and take initiative
• Knowledge of UAE regulations and IRFS, must have UAE experience
