Job Summary
The Senior Engineer – Power Plant plays a vital role in the development, maintenance, overhaul, and optimization of engine systems within a maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) environment. The role ensures high technical quality, operational efficiency, and compliance with global aviation standards throughout the engine lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include managing technical documentation, supporting regulatory compliance, leading disassembly and reassembly procedures, and ensuring engines meet readiness and service release requirements. The position also oversees day-one operational preparedness, ERP validation, and integration of OEM documentation and tooling.
This role involves close coordination with engineering, quality, maintenance, and regulatory authorities to maintain compliance, efficiency, and performance in power-plant operations. Shift-based work may be required.
Key Responsibilities
1. Engine System Management & Compliance (25%)
- Lead development and ongoing enhancement of engine systems and associated documentation.
- Ensure alignment with OEM manuals, regulatory bodies (FAA, EASA, GCAA), and customer requirements.
- Manage and maintain Service Bulletins (SBs), Airworthiness Directives (ADs), and Life-Limited Parts (LLPs) documentation.
- Oversee engine maintenance activities, ensuring engineering procedures and safety protocols are followed.
- Review and validate all technical documentation required for service release.
2. Engine Disassembly, Assembly & Lifecycle Oversight (35%)
- Lead and manage gating processes for engine teardown, inspection, repair, and reassembly.
- Conduct root cause analyses and troubleshooting of power-plant systems, delivering practical solutions.
- Interpret OEM publications and service bulletins, issuing updates and engineering documentation as needed.
3. Regulatory Compliance & Technical Evaluation (15%)
- Initiate deviation requests with OEMs for cases exceeding approved technical data.
- Review and authorize the implementation of service bulletins, directives, and notices.
- Ensure all processes align with applicable regulatory frameworks.
4. Process Improvement & Optimization (15%)
- Identify and solve engineering challenges impacting power-plant reliability or efficiency.
- Develop and implement solutions to improve workflows, reduce downtime, and support maintenance best practices.
5. Stakeholder Coordination & Technical Liaison (10%)
- Serve as the primary technical contact for OEMs, regulators, and internal teams.
- Coordinate the preparation, validation, and submission of engineering documentation.
- Provide support across departments to ensure smooth maintenance and release-to-service procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. - Certifications (Preferred):
OEM training certifications, EASA Part-66, FAA Powerplant license, or other relevant MRO or engine system credentials. - Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in engine systems maintenance and engineering, ideally within the aviation/aerospace MRO industry.
- Strong knowledge of OEM documentation, service bulletins, airworthiness directives, and regulatory compliance standards.
- Experience in power-plant lifecycle management, overhaul procedures, and technical troubleshooting.
