The Legal Director will lead and manage the organisation’s legal function, providing strategic legal advice, overseeing legal risk, reviewing and negotiating complex agreements, managing disputes and ensuring that business activities are conducted in line with applicable laws, regulations and internal policies. The role requires a senior legal professional with strong judgement, leadership capability and the ability to advise executive stakeholders on complex legal and regulatory matters.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the organisation’s legal function, ensuring high-quality legal support across all departments and related entities.

• Provide senior management and executive leadership with clear legal advice on commercial, regulatory, contractual and governance matters.

• Review, interpret and advise on relevant laws, regulations, policies and procedures affecting the organisation’s operations.

• Support senior leadership in negotiations, legal reviews and strategic projects to help identify and mitigate legal exposure.

• Draft, review and negotiate contracts, agreements, Memoranda of Understanding, official correspondence and other legal documentation.

• Advise internal departments on contractual obligations, legal risks, approval requirements and compliance considerations.

• Review business documents and transaction-related materials from a legal perspective to protect the organisation’s interests.

• Represent the organisation in legal discussions with government authorities, regulators, external stakeholders and other relevant parties.

• Manage relationships with external legal counsel, law firms and legal advisors, ensuring effective support and value from external providers.

• Assist with the preparation, coordination and management of litigation, disputes and other legal proceedings involving the organisation.

• Provide practical and commercially aware legal solutions to support decision-making across the business.

• Advise internal divisions and subsidiaries on legal matters connected to operational, commercial and strategic activities.

• Contribute to the development, improvement and standardisation of legal templates, contract formats and legal documentation.

• Monitor legal and regulatory developments, ensuring the organisation remains aligned with applicable federal and local requirements.

• Maintain accurate legal records, contract files, original documents, templates and legal databases.

• Allocate legal work effectively across the team and ensure legal services are delivered in a timely, accurate and professional manner.

• Lead, mentor and develop members of the legal team, including performance management and capability development.

• Support the continued improvement of legal processes, governance standards and internal controls.

• Perform additional duties and legal responsibilities as required by senior leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Law or a related legal discipline.

• A postgraduate legal qualification, professional legal certification or bar admission would be advantageous.

• Significant legal experience gained within a government, semi-government, corporate, regulatory or complex commercial environment.

• Previous experience leading or managing a legal function or senior legal team.

• Strong experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex contracts, agreements, MoUs and legal documentation.

• Sound knowledge of UAE laws, regulations, governance requirements and legal procedures.

• Experience advising senior management or executive stakeholders on legal risk, compliance and regulatory matters.

• Exposure to litigation, disputes, external counsel management and legal case coordination.

• Strong ability to interpret legislation, policies and contractual provisions and translate them into practical advice.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Arabic and English.

• Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills.

• High level of discretion, professional integrity and sound judgement.

• Ability to manage multiple legal matters, priorities and stakeholders in a complex environment.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will be an experienced UAE National legal professional with the confidence and credibility to advise executive leadership on complex legal, contractual and regulatory matters. Role Overview
A leading Abu Dhabi-based organisation is seeking a Contracts Officer to support procurement, tendering, contract administration and supplier management activities. The role will suit a UAE National candidate with experience in procurement, supply chain or contracts, and a strong understanding of RFP processes, commercial evaluations and contract documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the full tendering and contract administration cycle in line with internal procurement policies and procedures.
• Assist with procurement planning, RFP preparation, bid coordination, supplier evaluation and contract award recommendations.
• Prepare and manage contract documentation, ensuring accuracy, compliance and proper internal approvals.
• Conduct commercial evaluations of supplier submissions and contribute to fair, transparent and well-documented selection processes.
• Coordinate bid timelines, procurement schedules, evaluation activities, functional reviews and approval workflows.
• Support negotiations with suppliers on pricing, payment terms and contractual conditions under the guidance of senior management.
• Track procurement savings, commercial outcomes and assigned performance targets.
• Maintain strong working relationships with approved suppliers, contractors and service providers.
• Support supplier performance reviews, ensuring meeting notes and follow-up actions are properly documented.
• Assist internal stakeholders with supplier performance issues, disputes, contract clarifications and delivery concerns.
• Conduct periodic market benchmarking to identify potential suppliers and maintain awareness of market conditions.
• Support contract variations, clarifications, exceptions and related commercial documentation where required.
• Review requests for changes to contract specifications, delivery timelines or agreed terms and assess feasibility.
• Work with internal departments and related entities to support tendering, negotiation, supplier selection and contract preparation.
• Maintain complete electronic and hard-copy procurement files, including all approvals, correspondence and supporting documentation.
• Perform additional contract and procurement-related duties as required.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement or a related field.
• CIPS qualification, or currently working towards CIPS, is preferred.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in procurement, supply chain, contracts or a closely related function.
• Experience with RFP processes, tender documentation and contract drafting.
• Good understanding of supplier management, commercial evaluation and procurement governance.
• Strong documentation, coordination and stakeholder management skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to work in a structured, process-driven environment.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a UAE National with hands-on experience supporting procurement and contract activities within a government, semi-government, defence, industrial, infrastructure or large corporate environment. They should be comfortable managing documentation, coordinating with internal stakeholders and suppliers, and supporting commercially sound procurement decisions.
