General Manager – Interior Fit-Out & Joinery
The Opportunity
Inspire Selection is recruiting an experienced General Manager for an established UAE-based interior fit-out and joinery business.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the successful candidate will take overall responsibility for the commercial, operational and financial performance of a business employing approximately 100 people.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone with a proven track record in the UAE fit-out and joinery sector who can combine strong commercial instincts with operational expertise.
The business has an established joinery manufacturing facility with capacity for further expansion. The incoming General Manager will be expected to develop new business opportunities, strengthen operational performance and drive sustainable, profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full P&L responsibility for the business, overseeing revenue, profitability, cash flow and overall financial performance.
- Develop and execute commercial and operational strategies to support business growth.
- Identify and secure new fit-out and joinery contracts through established relationships with developers, consultants, architects, contractors and other key clients.
- Lead business development, tendering, estimating, pricing and contract negotiations.
- Oversee the successful delivery of interior fit-out and joinery projects, ensuring quality, programme and commercial objectives are achieved.
- Manage joinery factory operations, production planning, procurement, logistics and site delivery.
- Identify opportunities to improve factory utilisation, production efficiency and operational capacity.
- Manage budgets, financial forecasts, working capital and receivables.
- Build, develop and lead the management team, establishing clear performance objectives and accountability.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, consultants and other commercial partners.
- Work closely with the CEO on strategic planning, business development and organisational growth.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 15 years' UAE experience within the interior fit-out and joinery industry.
- At least 5 years in a senior management or leadership position with significant commercial and P&L responsibility.
- Demonstrable experience growing revenue and profitability within a fit-out, joinery or specialist interiors business.
- Strong understanding of joinery manufacturing and factory operations alongside project delivery.
- Proven business development capability, with an established network of clients and industry relationships in the UAE.
- Experience across tendering, estimating, commercial negotiations and contract management.
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, cost control, cash flow and profitability management.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams across commercial, production and operations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or a related discipline.
Desirable
- MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification.
- Previous experience leading a comparable fit-out and joinery business as General Manager, Operations Director or Commercial Director.
- Experience expanding manufacturing capacity or improving factory efficiency.
